A relaxing, tiny town set along M-22 on the gorgeous Omena Bay.

While quaint, Omena, Michigan offers a nice public beach that's perfect for spending an afternoon reading a book while the kids splash in the clear water. Although Omena Bay is a deep-water cove on Grand Traverse Bay, the water at the beach is nice and shallow for all ages to enjoy.

The village of Omena itself is on the National Register of Historic Places as the Omena Historic District. The tiny village has a rich history as a once-popular summer resort area, a productive area for agriculture, a Christian mission to convert Native Americans, and a safe, deep harbor for lumber ships over a hundred years ago.
